The Team

    Aron has a BA in Performance Making from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and is finishing an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Iceland. He works as a stage manager at Tjarnarbíó Theatre, where he was previously the Head of the Tech Department. He is also a production designer for film and TV and has designed lighting for various theatre productions and concerts. Aron has directed plays and musicals all over the country, and a big shout out to his original musical Hjartagull based on the music of 200.000 Naglbítar, which he wrote and directed in 2021.

    Elísabet has a BA in acting from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and an MA in acting from Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. They have appeared in various theatre productions, TV programs, and films, and have worked as a theatre director and acting coach for over 10 years. They also hold a diploma in contemporary dance from the Iceland Dance Academy. Elísabet has attended workshops for intimacy coordination in the UK and is a certified yoga teacher.

    Stefán has a BA in Performance Making from the Iceland Academy of the Arts. He has worked for advertising agencies, been creative director for Improv Iceland and the stand-up group VHS, and been marketing manager for the sketch group Kanarí. Stefán was the head of the Tech Department at Tjarnarbíó Theatre and is the host of the podcast Ekkert að þakka. Stefán is also a column writer, dramaturg, and stand-up comedian.

We have a tripod, 4K camera, studio lighting, a cool backdrop, mics and good sound insulation.

FAQs

  • We are the only company in Iceland that specialises in showreels for actors and dancers.
    Our team has a range of experience both in front of and behind the camera. Our goal is to make a high quality showreel best suited for your goals, your castability and to showcase your talents.

  • Reykjavík Showreel creates showreels for all those who are interested. We specialise in making showreels for actors and dancers whether they are professionally trained or not. The same goes for our self-tape studio.

  • In our Basic Package, you’ll get a 3-hour shoot day and one pre-production meeting.

    During the production meeting, we will go over what your goals are and what it is you would like to get from your showreel. We can help you pick out a scene, or we can write a scene for you.

    In our Popular Package, you get everything that is in our Basic Package plus an additional two person scene! We will record both scenes over a 6-hour shooting day. This can not be split into two shoot days.

    Don’t worry, we will handle everything! We record, edit, and colour grade your showreel for you.

  • Yes.

    For our showreel packages, we ask our clients to pay 50% of the full price as a deposit. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable. The remaining amount needs to be paid no later than 7 days after the shoot and before we send your showreel over.

  • You can cancel anytime, but please note that the deposit is non-refundable. 

    If you need to reschedule for a different date, we require a minimum of 10 days notice otherwise there will be change fee (up to 8000 ISK)

  • You will need to bring your own costumes and props if your scene requires it. It is also your responsibility to provide another actor to be in your scene.

  • You pick your own scene for your showreel. No worries, we are here to help you if you need any assistance with picking a scene. Or if you’d like we can write one for you, tailored to your goals and your castability.

    You’ll choose a 2 person scene that is approximately 2-2,5 minutes long (2-2,5 pages). The scene can be from a TV show or a film, or an original scene.

    Please note that we do not accept scenes that require staged fighting, CGI, or animals.

  • To be able to keep our prices fair, we use locations that we can arrange for free. That means we often shoot outdoors.

    If you have a location you want to use for your showreel, do let us know when you book.

    We do shoot rain or shine but if the weather is completely unmanageable or unsafe we will proactively reschedule.

  • A showreel is a valuable marketing asset for you - in addition to your headshot and resume - to pitch yourself to agents and casting directors. You might benefit from a showreel if…

    • You’re new to the industry and currently don’t have any materials for a showreel

    • You have an agent, a showreel can give them a good idea on how to market you and pitch you for projects

    • You’re looking to rebrand yourself and showcase yourself in a different light
